Here’s the skinny on each modality…
The EmpowerRF has 4 separate components: FormaV, Vtone, AccuTite, and MorpheusV. Each treatment can be done individually, or they can be combined to handle different problems. All of the procedures are done in the office (zero general anesthesia required). No large incisions. No lengthy downtime. Safe.
While your results may vary, many patients experience relief from urinary frequency, the frustration of urinary incontinence, improvement in vaginal dryness and laxity. Not only functional improvement, but also cosmetic improvement is possible. Non-surgical tightening of the labia can be achieved, without the scars, downtime, or surgery! The entire mons and introitus can be treated.

Gentle bipolar RF that remodels tissue, improves circulation, and stimulates collagen/elastin.
It involves a series of treatments. Each is about 30 minutes. They are scheduled one month apart. The treatment is performed using a flexible but firm pencil-marker sized probe that feels much like a hot stone massage. The treatment applies heat in the form of RF energy to the area, heating it gently. The heat sensitive skin then contracts with time as a result of collagen building in the submucosa. Inside and out can be treated.

Intra-vaginal applicator that delivers EMS to strengthen & re-educate pelvic floor muscles.
This is an electrical stimulation of the pelvic and/or vaginal muscles. Each 30 minute session is done with a rigid pickle size probe that stimulates the muscles. Think 30,000 kegels done in 30 minutes. This and Morpheus8 are the only FDA approved non-surgical treatments for stress incontinence. We typically recommend 6 treatments about a week apart, with a maintenance treatment done every 6 to 12 months.

Fractional RF microneedling for deeper remodeling of vaginal and vulvar tissues.
This is for vaginal skin tightening, and/or the surrounding tissues even including small external hemorrhoids can be treated. The mucosal tissue of the anterior vaginal wall and the surrounding tissue are very thin. It is treated with a topical anesthetic. Then Microneedling combined with RF energy is applied using a small brush sized appliance. In response, to the heat from the RF energy the tissue tightens dramatically. The thin mucosal tissue and submucosal tissue respond to RF energy – with more vigorous contraction than regular skin. As the anterior vaginal wall is tightened, it lifts the bladder and urethra, decreasing urinary symptoms. Usually Three - one hour or so - treatments are required. Each about one month apart. But often, women experience improvement in symptoms after only one or two treatments. This improvement in urinary tract symptoms may also be accompanied by similar improvement in vaginal dryness and dyspareunia.

Pinpoint, subdermal RF heating to contract tissue with precision.
This is can provide a non-surgical labioplasty. Usually a single one to two hour session is required. AccuTite involves a small probe, the size of thin spaghetti needle. After numbing medicine is placed, the probe is inserted underneath the skin of the labia to heat the tissue. Tissue temperatures are monitored continuously for safety. Surprisingly, tissue contraction can be seen almost immediately, but full results can take several months.

Vtone and FormaV have no downtime — you can return to your normal activities right away.
With Morpheus8V and AccuTite, some mild discharge is expected, so wearing a pad for a few days is recommended. We would recommend that tampons and intercourse should be avoided during that time. Most patients will notice some results immediately, with final results being seen at around 6 weeks.

Most patients have very little discomfort with the Vtone and FormaV.
Vtone feels like gentle muscle contractions — you can literally catch up on emails while it does the work!
FormaV is often compared to a warm stone massage.
Morpheus8V and AccuTite can feel a bit “spicy,” but we use topical numbing and offer ProNox (laughing gas) for added comfort — you control the level of sleepiness.

It depends on your body, your goals, and the specific treatment! Here’s a general guide:
FormaV: 3 sessions (about 1 hour each), spaced 1–2 weeks apart
Vtone: 6 sessions (about 45 minutes each), typically spaced a week apart
Combination (FormaV OR Morpheus8V + Vtone): 6 sessions total — 3 combined treatments, 3 Vtone-only sessions (this is our most popular Empower combo!)
Morpheus8V: 1–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart; mild swelling or sensitivity for 1–2 days is possible
AccuTite: Usually just 1 treatment, with results that continue improving over several months

Some patients notice improvement immediately after their first session, with the most noticeable results developing gradually as new collagen forms over 6–12 weeks.

Absolutely! Many patients see the best results by combining FormaV or Morpheus8V and Vtone for a full internal and external rejuvenation, or adding AccuTite for external tightening. We can work with you to customize the right plan for your goals.

Unfortunately, for EmpowerRF treatments you can’t be on your period during your session. We know cycles don’t always follow the plan (bodies do what they want!), so we’ll work around scheduling your appointments for whenever works for you and your body’s calendar :).

You can have any kind of IUD, so long as it is not the copper IUD. Unfortunately copper IUDs will conduct heat from these treatments that is not advisable!

Before your appointment, we recommend that the treatment area be mostly clean-shaven. For treatments like AccuTite or MorpheusV, hair can interfere with the delivery of heat and make the procedure less comfortable. A quick shave even just a week or so beforehand helps ensure the best results and a smoother experience.

It depends on which EmpowerRF treatment you're having! For FormaV and VTone, there's no downtime and no water restrictions — you can resume your normal routine right away. For Morpheus8V and AccuTite, your skin will have tiny entry points as it heals, and any standing or shared body of water (e.g., bathtubs, hot tubs, swimming pools, lakes, or the ocean) can introduce bacteria and increase the risk of infection. Generally we ask that you avoid soaking or submerging the treated area for roughly 3 - 7 days for Morpheus8V and roughly 2 weeks for AccuTite. Showers are fine.

Yes — we wouldn’t offer it if it weren’t! EmpowerRF is FDA-cleared and clinically proven to safely treat women of all skin types, with minimal discomfort and no general anesthesia.
Our thoughts on the EmpowerRF
Women’s Health was an area of medicine that I kind of “fell” into. During my training at the University of Colorado PA Program and immediately after graduating from PA school, I worked in all male physician-lead family practices. Because many women preferred to see a female medical provider for women’s health concerns, I became the “go to” for women’s health issues.
Moving on years later, I found a professional passion in student healthcare at the University of Denver. In my 12+ years at DU, my practice primarily involved women’s health and sexual health. I met one of my mentors while working at DU. She is a OB/GYN by training. After working together for a couple of years she asked me to work at her private practice exclusively providing women’s and sexual healthcare.
Interestingly, at the same time I had joined my mentor’s practice, I started working in ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery. During this time, I found another passion in cosmetic surgery. I had the best of both worlds, I was working in gynecology and plastic surgery!!
My mentor at the GYN office expanded her practice focus and we added hormone therapy, Mona Lisa Touch vaginal rejuvenation laser, and sexual health treatments. At that time, very few practices offered similar therapies. The demand for these services skyrocketed and the practice evolved. Women were coming to our office from all over the country (and other countries) for treatments. Our patients sought out treatments for dyspareunia (painful intercourse), lichen sclerosis, libido and hormone concerns, and stress/urge incontinence issues. We saw cancer survivors who had painful vaginal atrophy who were unable to be intimate with their partners for years, not only become sexually active, but enjoy it again!
Just as the clinic evolved, the whole area of women's health and sexual wellness has evolved. Women are seeking out therapies for issues that previous generations just accepted as part of the normal aging process. Stress and urge incontinence (loss of urine) affects over 50% of women.
